Spiritual Message

What Makes a Dad
This is taken from my church bulletin.

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it...”DAD!”

Happy Father’s Day to every Dad who reads this!

Additional Notes From Miss Sue

  • Breakfast Update: Those who responded to my proposal did so in support of it. If you didn’t get your feedback to me, you have this week yet to do so and then the window of opportunity for you to voice your opinion will close. The following is what I had in last week’s newsletter: My proposal is to ask for a minimum donation of $5 for adults and children 10 years old and older. The minimum donation for children 4-9 would be $2 and those younger than 4 would be $1. Please give me your feedback on this, as I would like to implement this at our July 14 breakfast.
  •  June 14’s Healing Field Event: We had a 100% participation in this wonderful event. Thanks so much for getting your children there and for your participation. Of course, I was thrilled to have two of our students win in their age divisions—Congratulations to Ashleigh and Alison! All of our students took part in this contest and were presented lovely framed certificates. We will be placing each of the essays on our website in the near future.
  •  Last Saturday’s CSA Work Day:  Hopefully, you’ll notice the improvement in our property from all the hard work done on Saturday. We didn’t make it through the entire list of things needing to be done outside, but we sure made tremendous headway. A huge thank you for all who pitched in on Saturday. For the families who weren’t able to make it Saturday or weren’t  represented by others, please check with me about putting in your time. It’s very important that we all shoulder the load of maintaining our building and property. Hopefully, by doing this it will not be an overwhelming task for any of us to bear.
  • Important Dates for You to Put on Your Calendar (Details for these events will be posted when necessary.)

    Tuesday and Thursday Mornings 10:30-12:00
: CSA’s doors will be open and I will be available for students to come in.

June 19-21--End of the Year Conference: If you haven not done so already, please email me or give me a call to arrange your time. I have an opening for one conference Wednesday afternoon between 2:00 and 3:00 and Thursday afternoon is open from 1:30 to 4:00.

August 18: Next Family Work Day at CSA—8:00-Noon  This is also the date of our Annual Picnic—6:00-9:00

June 23: Free Youth Sports Camp for K-6th Grade

  • Prayer Requests—Please continue to keep Frank and Miss Dana’s mom in your prayers this week. Please also keep David’s father in your prayers and Billie’s grandfather. Part of our Christian responsibility is to pray for one another, so please let your needs be known to us.
  • CSA Website— Please get in the weekly habit of visiting our website. The link found at the top of this page makes it now possible for you to print out the newsletter and our school supply list. Although the newsletter is in legal size format, you can tell your printer to print it out as a letter-size document. Just go into print under File on your tool bar. Tell it to scale your printout to letter size. I did it and it’s still very readable.

We are happy to share a copy of our parent’s weekly Newsletter.  We hope it touches you and keeps you updated on the “heartbeat” of our school.
